UCL: Newly-Signed Lukaku Could Make Fenerbahçe Debut

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku could make his debut for Fenerbahçe tonight, Tuesday 18 August, nearly one week after joining the Süper Lig side.

Last Wednesday, 12 August, Lukaku joined Fenerbahçe from Napoli on a one-year deal reportedly worth €6 million.

Now, the 33-year-old Belgian international could take to the pitch for the Turkish outfit when they compete against OL Lyonnes in UEFA Champions League (UCL) action tonight.

Fenerbahçe are scheduled to host OL Lyonnes at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, in the first leg of their UCL play-offs.

According to reports, Lukaku is set to start on the bench. This means that he may well be introduced as a substitute at any point of the game, especially if Fenerbahçe requires a goal or an impact player to change the game.

With a veteran player like Lukaku on their side, it could give Fenerbahçe the edge they need to defeat OL Lyonnes and advance in the 2026/27 UCL season.
